What is plywood
Plywood is a wood product manufactured out of many sheets of veneer, or plies, pressed together and glued, with their grains going in opposite directions. It tends to be extremely strong, and is treated in many different ways depending upon its intended application.
Plywood production can typically be divided into three manufacturing stages: veneer manufacture; clipping, drying and up-grading; and panel layup, pressing and finishing. The more details: Plywood thickness: 1.5mm-25mm; Plywood size: 4*8, 3*7,……..(4*8 is the common size); Plywood moisture:6-16%; Plywood grades: according to the veneer on both face and back. Splits, knots, knot holes and resin pockets are cut or routed out before being filled with putty or pathed. Plywood can be processed futher with tongue and groove edges; over laid, given a textured surface finish; and edge jointed to give oversized boards.
